The Parliament is in session

Make no noise,
Can’t hear their voice
Stop playing with them and their lives
They aren’t toys

Step back, let us hear them
Make no noise
Let us hear their voice.

Mr. Speaker are you listening to our pleas?
Ask them to make no noise
We want to hear what they’ll speak.

Are we to stay silent?
And listen to this ruckus
Is it not our right?
To hear them speak?

Just passed the hall which houses them
There’s more humdrum
Than that which marks?
A primary class

No one is ready to hear anybody
One shouts the other screams
No one actually speaks

There is not a shadow of doubt in my eyes
That when they are there time flies.

It’s been many years since they’ve said something
Which was heard?
Ask them to be silent
And make no noise.

I am dying of hunger and they only speak
No one cares, the future is bleak.

They talk about the damned rule book
About adjournments and motions so as to speak
While my brothers are looking and turning weak.

Sometimes in the winter session sometimes in the monsoon rains
Have I seen my hopes going down the political drain.

Mr. Speaker ask that fellow to raise hid voice
I can’t hear what he’ saying.

Mr. Speaker tell them not to make that noise
I can’t hear the minister’s voice.
