Once a Loser Always a Winner

It took me twenty odd years to realize this fact
and now that I have I had better act
to spread around the word for the benefit of my brothers
not that it won't prove useful if adhered to by the others.

It's time to forget how to do the best you can
for once you do it you'll be the man
and every time a venture crops up for completion
your name will come up for automatic admission.

If you want to take no part of the blame
if you never want to know the meaning of shame
if your heart craves for rest and peace
if you don't want work but want that fees.

Listen to these words of wisdom my friends
and act before it's too late make amends,
for there is a wise old saying to support what I say
and perhaps that's the reason you should follow this way....

Never doubt how true this is

that's the secret of eternal bliss.

Once you show that you are good for nothing
no boss will ever come up to your desk
and say with a condescending air
that "Hey buddy do your best"

You'll be given your own little space
and you can always make up a constipated face
they won't bother you not for anything in the world
no obligation , accusation at you shall be ever hurled.

Many wise men have lived that way
Failure is the key to success
I have often heard them say.

If failure is the key to success
then soon all the treasures you shall possess.
For to open the treasure chest
you should either have the key
or you should be the bloody best.

Once you are tagged as a loser my friend
no fault to you will ever accrue,
and if by chance you do something constructive someday
you'll be hailed- the hero of the crew.

If the mission fails you won't be counted
when the time comes to pass the blame.
When the whole damn office is slogging around
you can follow the match without any guilt or shame.

Rather , your colleagues will mind, if you lend a hand
such generosity they would never stand,
for they'll be used to your uselessness by then
and once they get used to a thing or two
they won't have it any other way, oh yes !such are men.

So at the beginning of the year
or better still of the career
declare this fact in unequivocal terms
that expecting work and quality from you
would be like serving disinfectants to germs.

There are plenty of folks working around
why should we bother running around
reluctance is our daily prayer,
work load, I am sorry we can't share.

If anyone dares to give you any work
you employ your reputation and your quirk
If that doesn't work though I think won't fail,
of callousness and incompetence do leave a trail.
And if I am worth half my salt
he would very soon realize his fault.
I bet he would then quickly retreat
and by his own vigour and labour would then the task complete.

It is because of the sincerity of such fine chaps
that we don't need to chew but get some easy paps.
Their quest for excellence I truly appreciate
and never against a hard worker will I discriminate.
